Last week, I put up a fake book on Amazon. I took a photo of my foot, uploaded to Amazon, and in a matter of hours, had achieved “No. 1 Best Seller” status, complete with the orange banner and everything.
Here are the top five products in every major category that we found at the time of writing. Check back regularly as we’ll continue to update this list with new best-sellers (just maybe not as often as Amazon does!).
You’ll see what’s currently getting the most sales in the main categories of Amazon, but since your niche site probably isn’t as broad as “Toys and Games” or “Electronics,” you’ll need to dig a little deeper.
Yes, it’s obvious! Since AmazonBasics is the own brand of Amazon, it continues to be at the top of the list. Recently, Amazon has been launching several brands. But, note that they weren’t as successful as AmazonBasics. Nevertheless, the launching brands are found to be the main focus of Amazon now given that they have all the data needed to predict which products to develop.
For example, this is why sometimes a new product can have a higher ranking than a product released 2 years ago. Even though the older product has more historical data or cumulative sales – Amazon is making a prediction that the new product is likely to surpass the older product.
After the US, Italy has gained the most sellers in the top 1,000, adding 14 to the list. The UK has lost the most sellers, followed by Germany with 86 on the list this year compared to 108 last year. Sellers whose primary marketplace is Amazon Mexico are yet to make a showing.
Amazon posted its top 100 best-selling video game products including video games, game PlayStation Store gift cards, and more. The $20 PlayStation Store gift card placed at number 1. When it comes to video games, the “Super Mario Odyssey” claims the top spot, beating video games like Game Awards’ Game of the Year winner “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and more. The game can be purchased from Amazon for only $54.98. The digital version of the video game is also available for $59.99.
You don’t have to go far down the list to find merchants who have really embraced selling on multiple marketplaces across Europe. But three of the highest-placed cross-border merchants are not European companies – JEDirect are from the US, while Anker (with two European accounts) and Sunvalley are both Hong Kong-based companies.
That leaves 54% doing some level of trade across Amazon’s European marketplaces using a unified account. But are they doing it successfully? Well, 71% of the cross-border traders gained 10% or more of their feedback from countries outside their biggest marketplace (up from 59% last year). And 33% got more than half of their feedback away from their main market, almost double the figure of 18% last year. So while there aren’t many more sellers selling internationally across Europe, those who are have become even more active over the last year.
Tania, the sales numbers you are referencing are within certain categories. The numbers listed above are for the overall amazon sales rank – how you rank compared to every other book on amazon. It is much easier (and still productive) to reach a to 100 sales rank within a certain category as people do search that way. However, the category sales ranks will not reflect the sales figures listed above.

It should be noted here that Amazon doesn’t have anything against selling cheap knockoffs. They just don’t like it when you lie about what it really is or who really made it. So, I’m not telling you this method because I condone it, but merely to keep you informed doesn’t Amazon seller. Someday it could happen to you! Is there a way to rank top US sellers within each marketplace – UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, India, Japan and China? I am willing to query on my own, I just do not know where to start. Thanks!
Amazon does nothing to stop any of these practices. Also, quite a few on this list are drop shippers and spider sellers. Some do not have inventory, so if you need to return a product what happens is you are suppose to ship it back to whoever they buy it from, who many or may not reimbursed the seller you bought from…you end up not getting reimbursed. It’s a whole scam. Also, many of these stores are the same store (they hire others to open a store on Amazon, they have no product, but the same book is listed almost the same wording and same condition (or in the condition, they tell you they have a bunch of satisfied customers), just a few pennies difference…want to know if they really have the book…ask a question and they will say ‘we can’t answer you because it is in a warehouse in bumf*** wherever, lol)

I’ve just recently published on Amazon, and as I am from Ireland, most of my sales are coming from amazon.co.uk- yet for my sales rank it only seems to be counting the ones that come from amazon.com? Just wondering if you could shed some light on this for me?
You may remember that Amazon keeps track of which products people end up buying after searching for a given keyword. They then use that data to help them decide which products are most relevant to the original search term.

Simply search Google for “submit a deal” and you’ll get a list of 500,000+ websites that all want to showcase your deals. Submit your coupons to 10 of these sites per day (not all of them will take online coupons) and if your deal is eye-catching enough, you should start seeing some steady traffic flowing in.
They also package poorly…so your purchase will no doubt look like road kill by the time you get it…and they lie about condition of product (outright lies or instead of condition they state they have thousands of satisfied customers…then you get some smelly, torn up product).
