In a country teetering on the brink of civil war, two young people meet—sensual, fiercely independent Nadia and gentle, restrained Saeed. They embark on a furtive love affair, and are soon cloistered in a premature intimacy by the unrest roiling their city.

While Google hasn’t yet opened up product distribution outside the U.S., earlier this week, Amazon indicated that it would ship the device to select international destinations. Shoppers in Europe, Asia and Australia reported success in ordering the device. But now, Amazon’s Chromecast product listing reads: “Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S. and to APO/FPO addresses.”

Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) is an e-commerce powerhouse that has continually expanded its footprint from its early days of selling books online to now selling nearly everything from beauty products to car parts. Last year alone, Amazon brought in an eye-popping $136 billion in revenue, and 43% of all e-commerce sales in the U.S. were completed through Amazon’s website, according to Slice Intelligence.

The opposite holds true, too, where your competitors can suddenly out-rank you in the Amazon best sellers rank. This usually happens if you’ve been selling at roughly the same rate each day, and one of them enjoys a considerable (and relative) spike on one day.

Amazon won’t announce the best-selling product of 2017 until early next year, but for now investors can take note that the past two years Amazon’s products outsold everything else, and this year its electronics are easily topping the list again. That’s a strong signal of Amazon’s ability to continually keep customers tied to its ecosystem.

“If you don’t need extra connections like audio and Ethernet, and don’t plan on using voice search (the stick remote lacks it, but I never used it anyways, as it only searches Prime) and don’t plan on heavy gaming, then absolutely get the stick, it’s been a solid experience.” – Darren Levine, Amazon reviewer

Nintendo’s 3D platform-adventure video game “Super Mario Odyssey” continues to dominate 2017 even with the year already over. Amazon recently released a list of its bestsellers from the video game category.

Amazon’s press release is filled with all sorts of tidbits about top-selling items along with interesting factoids about logistics. one quick example, Amazon notes that customers ordered more than 1,400 electronic products per second via mobile devices during the recent holiday shopping season. Another tidbit is that the peak day of customer fulfillment this past year was on December 19.

Keep in mind, this isn’t 100% proven to work, but everything we know about Amazon’s ranking algorithm tells us it should. Plus, the absolute worst-case scenario is that you’re driving extra sales to one of your products… Amazon isn’t like Google where they’ll punish you for trying to optimize for their search engine.

Some websites claimed that the ratings were updating monthly, weekly or daily, depending on a given item’s success rate. One claimed that a ranking over 10,000 meant sales of 2.2 copies a day. Another quoted an informal study by a publishing house, who tracked 25 books, and discovered that a ranking of 10,000 or more meant sales of about one to five books a week. The information was inconsistent.

Amazon also stated that 60 percent of holiday sales were made from a mobile device. Purchases made using gadgets were especially brisk on Cyber Monday, as Amazon sold 18 toys per second, via mobile devices. This indicates shoppers are moving away from the computer and grabbing the phone or tablet to shop online instead.

For example, SellBrite automatically keeps inventory for your Amazon store, eBay store and Etsy store all synced up so that you’re never showing duplicate products. “The scale is very accurate. I stepped on and off multiple times, and always got the same number. Then I put on a light jacket, stepped on again, and it was up .6 pounds. Perfect!” – Elizabeth, Amazon reviewer

The shocking ascension of the book, which Wolff said marks a culmination of a year of speaking with Donald Trump allies and family on a regular basis, was a result of details slowly trickling out on Wednesday morning. First, citing a copy obtained at an unnamed bookstore in New England, The Guardian reported the book quoted Steve Bannon, President Trump’s former chief strategist, as claiming Donald Trump, Jr. was “unpatriotic” and “treasonous” for meeting with a Kremlin-connected lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election campaign.

I tend to buy from the little guys now instead of the people on this list…just because they are listed as top sellers, top seller is really misleading. If they screw me over once, I will leave a neutral feedback with everything about the sale as neutral does not count against them (I just don’t want to ruin business, but do state what went wrong), then I never buy from them again…and I mention to family, community members, friends, colleagues to not buy from this or that seller (and then sometimes those people warn other not to buy). Also, I tend to buy from those who respond to inquiries with actual answers (even ‘I don’t know’ is better than a lie) . I buy from those who describe what they are selling (instead of may or may not have chips in case, may or may not have accessories…WHAT???) and I will pay more for service and honesty than for the cheapo prices given by the above sellers.

With the 2017 holiday shopping season now firmly behind us, Amazon has a lot to smile about. Earlier today, the online retailing giant issued a press release noting that the 2017 holiday shopping season was its biggest yet. In addition to a record number of online orders, Amazon relays that it saw significant gains to its Prime membership, noting that it saw more than 4 million new Prime subscribers in one week alone.

It used to be a real mark of distinction to hit the best-seller lists–because there were fewer lists and fewer authors (and before ebooks, pricing across books was pretty universal as well). The New York Times list has been the most prestigious, published in one form or another since 1931. By 1942, a national list made its debut, compiled according to “reports from leading booksellers in 22 cities.” By the mid-2000s, over 4,000 bookstores were polled each week to determine who deserved to be on the list. The Wall Street Journal list, which has been around since 2009, is based on Nielsen Bookscan and tends to focus on a smaller number of categories. The USA Today list is also a prestigious but more of a catch-all list.
