Regarding Andy’s comment; I think it’s a good base to go from seeing as how there isn’t much other data that Amazon is willing to make public. A few of the listed companies can probably shuffle around in hierarchy (if given 100% data) but I’d say for the general,.. those listed def earned to be “nominated” of making it on the list lol!
But it’s begun to feel a bit like a losing battle. Because those authors are everywhere these days. The title of my fake book was “Putting My Foot Down” for a reason: I’ve become utterly exhausted with phony “authors” and the scam artists and charlatans who conspire with these folks–the cottage industry that has built up around them, selling courses, instructions and hacks. A quick Google search returns dozens of “bestselling books,” courses, packages, schools, secrets, summits, and webinars teaching you how to become a “bestselling author”. Hell, this guy even promises to show you how to be a bestselling author “Even if You Have No Book Ideas, Writing Skills, or Any Clue Where To Start” in a “5 Phase Formula.”
Another thing is that even though their seller feedback rating might be stellar, you will see if you read back in their 40/50 feedbacks per day that negative feedback gets buries almost instantly (and funny…most the positive feedback after negative feedback will take a point or two of the negative feedback proceeding it and comment in the positive on those points.

My free rank was #1 but my paid rank is #280,230. Please tell me why such a difference has happened. Secondly I want to know how did you determine the figures of sales and amazon rank. An alternative to Sellery is RepricerExpress. It does pretty much everything Sellery does with a similarly easy-to-use interface. The perks are that it’s a flat monthly rate instead of commission-based, and it claims to be one of the fastest large-volume repricers on the market.
Is there a way to rank top US sellers within each marketplace – UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, India, Japan and China? I am willing to query on my own, I just do not know where to start. Thanks!

But presumably the ranking would go up — or down, as the case may be — when the novel actually went on sale. Either way, I did a little research into how the rating system works and learned that very little concrete information is available.
All the research reports say that Electronics along with Cell Phones and Accessories are the most famous product categories on Amazon, although there are some exceptions like Cards Against Humanity LLC (Toys), Positively Tea LLC and Healthworks (Groceries), and NatureWise (Health and Household).
Quick Note: For some reason, removing the ?url=search-alias returns a different set of search results… Not sure why, but either way make sure you keep that in if you want to make it look like someone searched for that keyword from Amazon.
Choosing the right categories will help you reach #1 when you have a promo. When you do, the real sales start coming. From organic readers, due to the increased exposure. Page views also affect ranking a bit.
The sellers above do not have to follow Amazon rules because they sell a lot for Amazon. If you buy from Amazon, find yourself the little seller who has great feedback and has described what they are selling. Question the seller before buying (I’d stay away from every seller listed above, they have no time for answering question and no time for customer service).
So we supplemented data from the seller directories by looking at all sellers with an offer for any of the top 100 products in any the top-level categories. (So they don’t have to be in the Buy Box for those products, they just need to have an offer at any price.)
Easy – invest in a tool that automatically reprices your products so that you always stay on top of the Buy Box. This is almost a requirement when you have lots of products for sale; there’s just no way to stay on top of pricing for all of them.
Tania, the sales numbers you are referencing are within certain categories. The numbers listed above are for the overall amazon sales rank – how you rank compared to every other book on amazon. It is much easier (and still productive) to reach a to 100 sales rank within a certain category as people do search that way. However, the category sales ranks will not reflect the sales figures listed above.
