Although sellers on Amazon.co.uk have taken three of the top five slots this year, the list overall is still dominated by Amazon.com, with 584 sellers (551 last year). The UK is next with 205 sellers (234 last year). The US’s gain of 33 sellers in the top 1,000 is very close to the UK’s loss of 29 sellers.
Every computer enthusiast knows the conversation—the one you get from friends or family: “Hey, I need to buy a new laptop. What do you think of this Acer so-and-so? Or should I get this Dell that costs $50 less? They seem pretty similar.”
Looking at Amazon’s best selling laptops can be an effective way to start searching for a new laptop for yourself. There are so many options available that is can be a little overwhelming, so being able to see which laptops are selling the best will give you a good idea as to how other people are shopping. Plus the better-selling laptops usually have more reviews, so you can get first-hand accounts of the pros and cons that come along with owning that laptop.
“How does this tablet rank against the competition? There are really only two other tablets in its class currently: the Google Nexus 7 and the just-announced Apple iPad Mini with Retina Display.” – NF, Amazon reviewer
As the strongest Windows competitor to the MacBook Air’s ultrabook dominance, Windows fans will find a lot to be happy about with this Asus model. It has a beautiful design, 5 hours of battery life, an Intel i5 processor and solid state hard drive. There is also an i7 processor model available, though it falls out of the $1000-$1200 price range.
That’s right — if a free book is ‘sold’, it’s weighted just the same as if a buyer forked over cash for the same title. The only thing, then, that matters is how many of whatever title have been snapped up, and that number in turns becomes part of the algorithm used to calculate the sales rank.
Here are the top 500 sellers on the Amazon.fr marketplace. The feedback shown is only that received from sales on the French marketplace. The feedback data will vary from that in the global list above, for merchants selling to other European marketplaces using the same account.
Product Reviews Matter: When buyers look at your items and see a low sales rank, it’s not the end of the world. If you’ve been an honest and hard-working seller and focusing on acquiring amazing product reviews, then consumers will take that into account (and most likely a lot more than simply the sales rank).
Any industry person can tell you these lists have their problems. There’s a barely concealed editorial bias. Bookscan, the database that tabulates book sales, inexplicably doesn’t include Amazon’s ebook sales. There’s even the possibility of manipulation, as outlined in a 2013 Wall Street Journal article called “The Mystery of the Book Sales Spike.” Still, they remain relatively hard to crack. In most cases, your book not only has to be good enough for a legitimate publisher to publish it, but you have to outsell all the other books out there, past and present, even if you’re paying for it out of your pocket. We’ve had clients sell close to 10,000 copies in a single week and miss landing on these charts.
Obviously, the year is not quite over just yet. So, unless a sudden monster comeback is mounted by Breath of the Wild, Call of Duty or Valkyria Revolution, it’s looking pretty snug that Mario will be spending Christmas celebrating his incredible success, alongside Peach, Yoshi and John Leguizamo.
Conny, I’m not sure, to be honest. Perhaps something to do with angorythm changes? Or simply your relation to others in your category, which can naturally change without your sales changing at all… so, if the sales in 50% of your category are fluctuating (which they are), this will naturally change your relative rank, even if your sales stay the same (even at 0)… In all, it’s impossible to tell for sure. Please let me know if you find out anything else!
They also package poorly…so your purchase will no doubt look like road kill by the time you get it…and they lie about condition of product (outright lies or instead of condition they state they have thousands of satisfied customers…then you get some smelly, torn up product).
