Let me just point out, from personal experience, that the figures posted by Regan on how many sales we can expect a book to be achieving, depending on its overall sales rank are only good for amazon.com or english titles. Smaller markets (for instance french language books, or italian language books like mine) will have much lower sales for a certain ranking

Current book bestsellers – every major category in the Amazon store comes with the list of the bestselling items. The lists get updated a few times a day, so they are a good tool to check out which books are currently the hottest. The lists, both for print and Kindle books, are split into genres and subcategories, down to the lowest level.
Some of these companies pay even their own employees to write feedback (they have the employee “buy” something, pay the employee plus give free incentives/product Many of the book dealers are the worst..
The sellers above do not have to follow Amazon rules because they sell a lot for Amazon. If you buy from Amazon, find yourself the little seller who has great feedback and has described what they are selling. Question the seller before buying (I’d stay away from every seller listed above, they have no time for answering question and no time for customer service).
“The scale is very accurate. I stepped on and off multiple times, and always got the same number. Then I put on a light jacket, stepped on again, and it was up .6 pounds. Perfect!” – Elizabeth, Amazon reviewer
Which book is on top of the print list? Dr. Seuss fans, time to celebrate! Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is the children’s classic parents keep buying for their kids. It was #5 print book bestseller in the list of Amazon Bestsellers of 2016.
Lower down on the book seller’s list are the dystopian classics “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood, “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley, “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury, and “Animal Farm,” also by Orwell. Trump’s “The Art of the Deal” is also on the list, at #12 on Saturday afternoon.

This conveniently small car mount attaches to your dashboard and holds your phone in place so you can better check GPS, quickly control music, or make calls and texts in a safer, more convenient way.
There were other interesting nuggets of information in the Amazon press release, including the list of top-selling tablets. While it’s no surprise that Amazon’s own tablets made the top three list given heavy promotions, it is interesting that the Kindle Fire 7 bested the Kindle Fire 6 and the Kindle Fire HDX 7. Note that the top three are all smaller tablets. Buyers liked the 7-inch size in particular.
“After having my fire for a few weeks I still have very few complaints. I pretty much carry it with me whenever I am out of the house. I love having the option to read or if there way available wi-fi watch a movie. I wish it came with 4G but I bet it would make the price out of line with other small tablets.” – NicoleReviewsItAll, Amazon reviewer
As you would expect from a computer in this price range, this HP Envy has some great components that will fly through most common computing tasks. The Intel i7 processor is remarkably fast, as is the 750 GB 7200 RPM hard drive. If you perform a lot of intensive applications on your computer, then this could be the right computer for you.
I was hooked. It didn’t matter the numbers could be meaningless because they accounted for only one bookseller or because I couldn’t be sure in relationship to what I was being ranked. It didn’t matter that the numbers were as fleeting as my recent obsession with chocolate mint gum, which ended when I tasted it.
This week, excerpts and early copies of “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” began to circulate among newsrooms, revealing bombshell claims by author Michael Wolff about President Donald Trump’s first year in office.
Here are the top 500 sellers on the Amazon.ca marketplace. The feedback shown is only that received from sales on the Canadian marketplace. The feedback data will vary from that in the global list above, for merchants selling to other North American marketplaces using the same account.
While Google hasn’t yet opened up product distribution outside the U.S., earlier this week, Amazon indicated that it would ship the device to select international destinations. Shoppers in Europe, Asia and Australia reported success in ordering the device. But now, Amazon’s Chromecast product listing reads: “Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S. and to APO/FPO addresses.”

According to author Melissa Walker, whose new book Unbreak My Heart — out since May 22 — is her sixth young adult novel, Amazon Ranking Obsession (A.R.O) lessens with time. “With my first book, I checked Amazon NONSTOP,” she admits. “Every other author kept telling me the ranking didn’t matter, but it was the only number I had access to, so it had the power to make my heart soar (or drop). Now, I’ll admit that I still check it, but only once or twice a month (really!).” Still, it’s hard to resist even a mysterious number, if it’s right there in print.
This isn’t about how The New York Times list is biased (though it is). This isn’t about how authors buy their way onto various national best-seller lists by buying their own books in bulk (though they do). No, this is about the far more insidious title of “Amazon Bestseller”—and how it’s complete and utter nonsense.
