(NOTE – While lowering the price is certainly a good strategy to rank higher, it is not always a good long-term business strategy. You do NOT want to compete on price alone, as this will only start a price war/race to the bottom)
“How does this tablet rank against the competition? There are really only two other tablets in its class currently: the Google Nexus 7 and the just-announced Apple iPad Mini with Retina Display.” – NF, Amazon reviewer
This is my method for buying on Amazon (eBay in disguise), eBay, Abes: ask questions before sale about packing, when product will really be sent, do they provide tracking, have they described condition, what is their feedback like (go back and see how many people are dissatisfied each day for a month or so…tedious, but if you have people every day saying you screwed up, something’s wrong), do they respond to emails and do they answer the questions asked?
Just like with the &field-keywords= string, the only part of the URL necessary to tell Amazon to bring us to the “Kitchen & Dining” category is the &node= query, in this case &node=284507. So, if we wanted to link to this page, you could strip down the URL to this:
Another thing is that even though their seller feedback rating might be stellar, you will see if you read back in their 40/50 feedbacks per day that negative feedback gets buries almost instantly (and funny…most the positive feedback after negative feedback will take a point or two of the negative feedback proceeding it and comment in the positive on those points.
As documentary filmmakers who have published both DVDs and books, my in-laws have experienced Amazon ranking firsthand. They informed me that my book had likely been assigned a number though it was only currently available for pre-order, but the numbers changed all the time, so I might as well wait to look. I could arguably head upstairs to my laptop and get a preliminary sense of the book’s standing immediately, but what was the point?
Here are the top 500 sellers on the Amazon.it marketplace. The feedback shown is only that received from sales on the Italian marketplace. The feedback data will vary from that in the global list above, for merchants selling to other European marketplaces using the same account.
Amazon has revealed its 100 best-selling video games of 2017. While the list encompasses all of the game-related products the online retailer sold throughout the past year, the actual list of best-selling games was dominated Nintendo, which published seven of Amazon’s top 10 titles by platform in 2017.
Amazon offers the Acer Aspire 5 A515-51G-53F6 Intel Kaby Lake R Core i5 1.6GHz 15.6″ 1080p Gaming Laptop for $585.50 with free shipping. That’s the best price we could find by $44. It features an Intel Core i5-8250U 1.6GHz Kaby Lake R quad-core processor, 15.6″ 1920×1080 (1080p) LED-backlit LCD, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce MX150 2GB graphics, 4-cell battery, and Windows 10 Home 64-bit. (No optical drive is included.)
But it’s begun to feel a bit like a losing battle. Because those authors are everywhere these days. The title of my fake book was “Putting My Foot Down” for a reason: I’ve become utterly exhausted with phony “authors” and the scam artists and charlatans who conspire with these folks–the cottage industry that has built up around them, selling courses, instructions and hacks. A quick Google search returns dozens of “bestselling books,” courses, packages, schools, secrets, summits, and webinars teaching you how to become a “bestselling author”. Hell, this guy even promises to show you how to be a bestselling author “Even if You Have No Book Ideas, Writing Skills, or Any Clue Where To Start” in a “5 Phase Formula.”
For example, this is why sometimes a new product can have a higher ranking than a product released 2 years ago. Even though the older product has more historical data or cumulative sales – Amazon is making a prediction that the new product is likely to surpass the older product.
Since customer reviews obviously affect sales, I guess that my question has to do with Sales Rank, so here it is: if a review is posted on my sales page in one Amazon store (e.g. UK or, say, Italy) will it automatically appear on all other Amazon sales pages for book, including Amazon.com?
