But it’s begun to feel a bit like a losing battle. Because those authors are everywhere these days. The title of my fake book was “Putting My Foot Down” for a reason: I’ve become utterly exhausted with phony “authors” and the scam artists and charlatans who conspire with these folks–the cottage industry that has built up around them, selling courses, instructions and hacks. A quick Google search returns dozens of “bestselling books,” courses, packages, schools, secrets, summits, and webinars teaching you how to become a “bestselling author”. Hell, this guy even promises to show you how to be a bestselling author “Even if You Have No Book Ideas, Writing Skills, or Any Clue Where To Start” in a “5 Phase Formula.”

Thanks for the great comments, Ed! It’s difficult to say just how useful this tanking actually is- whether it’s more for vanity, or whether it actually has some real bearing on revenue and sales etc, but it’s interesting to look at it in more detail though 🙂

if you do a Google search they have a lot of complaints. Unfortunately Amazon is not interested in good sellers, just whoever makes the most money for them like Anybook for example, another crook that Amazon allows to stay, despite horrible complaints.

You can even narrow it down to talk about and sell the specific chemicals they need in their darkroom… while featuring only those products you already know have a great success rate of selling on Amazon.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an engrossing adventure as you take the role of Link in a bid to save Hyrule anew. Puzzles, outstanding swordplay, and a compelling story make this game a must-have.

“Overall, it’s not necessarily something sellers don’t want to pay attention to but it’s not something we recommend they should focus on too much. In our opinion, sellers should play more attention to moving up in the SERP than a product’s BSR.”

Chromecast’s sales success does suggest that mainstream users aren’t too concerned about the lack of streaming options—to date, only two non-Google services, Netflix and Hulu, work directly with Chromecast—or the wait for more apps to emerge. At least not yet.

One of the most common decisions that people have been needing to make when considering laptops of this caliber is whether to go with the MacBook Air or the MacBook Pro. There isn’t a “correct” answer to this question, as each one offers something that the other does not. But with a solid state drive, amazing screen, long battery life and snappy processor, the MacBook Air is going to make a lot of people very happy.

As you can see, this section of Amazon’s website is almost a department unto itself. Promotions are given their own unique links and listing pages. The part I’d like to draw your attention to is the Coupons link, highlighted in the blue box above. This page takes you to a list of Amazon’s most popular Vendor Powered Coupons (VPC) in a variety of categories. See the page for yourself below:

It will not be surprising if the Echo family of devices does well this Prime Day. The original Echo received a 50 percent price cut to $89.99, while the Dot dropped by $15, bringing it to $34.99, with corresponding discounts in other markets where Echo devices are sold. Echo currently only supports commands and provides information in American and British English, as well as German.

The next morning, my book was finally officially out in the world! My number had fallen (or risen in the ranks) to around 35,000 and it went down from there as the days went down to the teen thousands. Then it went up. Then it went down. Then it hovered. Then I discovered that the Kindle version had a separate page with an even lower rating around 9,000. Then that went up. Then it went down. And I watched it all with total awe, although I had no clue what it meant.

Just like with the &field-keywords= string, the only part of the URL necessary to tell Amazon to bring us to the “Kitchen & Dining” category is the &node= query, in this case &node=284507. So, if we wanted to link to this page, you could strip down the URL to this:

Conny, I’m not sure, to be honest. Perhaps something to do with angorythm changes? Or simply your relation to others in your category, which can naturally change without your sales changing at all… so, if the sales in 50% of your category are fluctuating (which they are), this will naturally change your relative rank, even if your sales stay the same (even at 0)… In all, though, it’s impossible to tell for sure. Please let me know if you find out anything else!

We’re only halfway through 2017 right now so there’s plenty of time for another item to top Amazon’s electronics list. But if the past few years are any indication, the company may be on track for another year of having the best-selling item.

I’ve just recently published on Amazon, and as I am from Ireland, most of my sales are coming from amazon.co.uk- yet for my sales rank it only seems to be counting the ones that come from amazon.com? Just wondering if you could shed some light on this for me?

This is the second year in a row for strong holiday sales of Chromebooks, but it’s a bigger feat this year. Microsoft and its Windows hardware partners pushed out cheap laptops (around $200) to compete with the Chromebook this year. Based on Amazon’s information, three Chromebooks outpaced them.

It’s a new year and a fresh start for both gamers and those that make them. 2017 had a lot of ups and downs the past year, but that doesn’t mean it was without it’s amazing moments. Nintendo made a comeback in a huge way with their Nintendo Switch, while the Call of Duty franchise finally made their way back home to their roots – much to the community’s happiness. As we begin our new journey into 2018, let’s look back on some of the top selling titles from 2017 on Amazon ranked from top to bottom:

2018 Newest HP Pavilion Premium Flagship Desktop Computer with 27 Inch 1080P FHD Monitor (Intel Quad-Core i5-7400 up to 3.50Ghz, 16GB RAM, 2TB HDD + 16GB Intel Optane Memory, Intel HD 630, Windows 10)

The winner is … Chromecast, the tiny Google device that streams video and music to a TV. Chromecast has topped several of Amazon’s bestseller lists—including the biggie, its list of all electronics—for weeks now, displacing a Kindle model as sales leader and leapfrogging ahead of both Apple TV and the Roku.

“I bought this in December 2013 and I use it daily as the extra storage for my music and photos in my phone (currently an Xperia Z5C). No performance issues at all. I do really recommend this micro SD card.” – Paco Hernandez, Amazon reviewer

  1. I tend to buy from the little guys now instead of the people on this list…just because they are listed as top sellers, top seller is really misleading. If they screw me over once, I will leave a neutral feedback with everything about the sale as neutral does not count against them (I just don’t want to ruin business, but do state what went wrong), then I never buy from them again…and I mention to family, community members, friends, colleagues to not buy from this or that seller (and then sometimes those people warn other not to buy). Also, I tend to buy from those who respond to inquiries with actual answers (even ‘I don’t know’ is better than a lie) . I buy from those who describe what they are selling (instead of may or may not have chips in case, may or may not have accessories…WHAT???) and I will pay more for service and honesty than for the cheapo prices given by the above sellers.
Holiday shopping on Amazon can be tricky to interpret. A few years ago, it bragged about the Kindle Fire being a huge seller, but in terms of actual market share, the Kindle Fire is tiny. Also, Kindle Fire sales spiked during the holiday then fell in the next quarter.
