“amazon movers and shakers in books |amazon local gift ideas”

The Echo Dot was the top-selling device across Amazon Books’ 13 stores; the Kindle Paperwhite was the best-selling Kindle; the TP-Link Smart Plug was the best-selling accessory; and WowWee Fingerlings were the top selling toy.

I suspected that I was not alone in my obsession. There are even sites like Sales Rank Express and Novel Rank that aim to cull tracking for authors, domestically and internationally. So, I reached out to two novelist buddies with new books out and asked about their relationship to the ranking system. Was I the only crazy one? “In one instance, I knew that 10 copies of [my book] were going to be purchased on Amazon,” explains Jennifer Miller, author of debut novel The Year of The Gadfly (out since May 8). “Out of curiosity, I checked the ranking before and after the sale. To my surprise, the ranking temporarily got worse. It’s a mystery!” She also reports fluctuations in one day from 100,000 to 7,000 and says that, according to her publisher, early sales information suggests that the book is selling best at independent bookstores. Wait, independent bookstores actually sell books? I thought they were a dying breed, almost as elusive as unicorns? Turns out that they still play an important role, thank goodness.

Oh, and then there are the ones who claim to have U.S. warehouses and even state they send from such and such a state…many of these are located overseas and your purchase takes up to three months to get.

We’ve scoured the web to find you the best deals on good products. While Reviewed.com may receive a small share of the revenue from your purchase, editorial opinions are independent from any business sales.

Research the manufacturer to figure out how you can start reselling the product for yourself. Find out how much it will cost wholesale, and calculate what it will cost you to ship. Is there room between that number and $0.01 less than the current Buy Box-winning price for you to make a profit?

This laptop has everything that most people could ever want. It has a full-HD, 1080p screen, an incredible Intel i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 750 GB hard drive. This computer was built for gaming, as evidenced by the powerful graphics processor and, basically, across the board, top-of-the-line components. And not only are its’ components top-notch, it also won a prestigious reddot 2012 design award. It also has nearly 20 customer reviews (at the time of this writing), and a nearly perfect average review score. This is even more impressive due to the fact that this laptop is meant to appeal to computer gamers, who are notoriously among the most difficult to please.

They also package poorly…so your purchase will no doubt look like road kill by the time you get it…and they lie about condition of product (outright lies or instead of condition they state they have thousands of satisfied customers…then you get some smelly, torn up product).

It’s worth noting, too, that Prime Day 2017 technically started early this year — at 9 PM ET on Monday night. Plus, the sales event has expanded to 13 countries worldwide this year, up from 10 in 2016, which also translates to increased sales. While the U.K. and Germany were both in the Prime Day lineup last year, the Echo had yet to expand to those markets (it came only in September 2016): that too will have translated to a bump.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an engrossing adventure as you take the role of Link in a bid to save Hyrule anew. Puzzles, outstanding swordplay, and a compelling story make this game a must-have.

The reason people aspire to call themselves “bestselling author” is because it dramatically increases your credibility and “personal brand.” It can establish you as a thought leader. You’re able to show that you not only wrote a book, but that the market has judged it to be better than other books out there. It’s a status symbol, one of that cashes in on the prestige of one of man’s oldest past-times. At last, I had acquired this coveted title for myself.

“If you are in the market for a little tablet and have prime, you have to decide between this Fire 6 or the 7 inch HDX for twice the cost. This 6 inch adds the rear camera and most of the performance while being smaller, lighter at half the price.” – William Hardin, Amazon reviewer

Hutch, thanks for your reply, and thanks for the email you sent me! I’ve took another look at all of this, and want to thank you for pointing this out. I’m getting that section of the article clarified now, so it’s clearer that free and paid have separate besterller ranks, however the rankings seem to be calculated in the same way (or very similar).

There’s probably a lot of variance in the % of buyers who leave seller feedback. Amazon’s own statistic of 10%-20% does feel high though. I’m hoping to get data on it sometime and might be interesting to see if it varies by country, category etc.

That was when I learned about the Amazon Best Sellers Rank. In case you too have been living under a rock, apparently every item sold on Amazon — from books to glass dildos (No. 744 at the time of this article) — is awarded a number based on the frequency with which it’s selling by comparison to other Amazon items.

The data is drawn from Amazon’s seller directories and best selling product lists – there’s one for each product category in each marketplace, including Amazon US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, India, Japan, China and Mexico.

In all book categories (including Kindle paid and free books), as well as most product categories on Amazon, if you scroll down the page to the ‘Product Details’ section, you’ll see it says ‘Amazon Bestsellers Rank’. This is a number that’s purportedly calculated hourly (as stated by Amazon) and is linked to the number of recent sales of the product (while also taking into account historical sales data), relative to the other products in that category.

(Publisher: Ubisoft) — Ubisoft lands a one-two punch at the top of the midyear sales list with this hack-and-slash fighting game that pitted Vikings against samurais against knights. While the multiplayer elements faced some criticism, fans appreciated that the game rewarded patience, rather than letting people simply mash buttons on their controller randomly and still win fights.

Absolutely, it will overrate some and underrate others. However, it is comprehensive and transparent and, I believe, the best possible without making a lot of shaky assumptions on average feedback rates, sales prices etc. etc. So I prefer to keep it simple, and be upfront about the source of the data and its shortcomings.

A recent report put out by RBC Capital estimates that there will be an installed-base of 128 million Alexa-powered devices (like the Echo speaker and Echo Dot) by 2020, and that they’ll become a $10 billion business that year. Those estimates are based on the assumption that Alexa-powered devices will increase spending by 5% to 15% for each Amazon customer.

Also, there are sellers above that are overseas, copy loose leaf and print on demand textbooks, they illegally copy to sell to U.S. students. Students wait months to get their textbooks and they come in as different editions (because they lie about them), loose leaf, or illegally printed (meaning they bought a book, made copies of it and sell the book).

Amazon has websites in three other countries – Australia, Brazil and the Netherlands. These sites only sell Kindle readers, Fire tablets and related digital downloads. They don’t have third-party marketplaces and don’t appear in the data here.

This is one of the most value-packed 2-in-1 laptops we’ve seen in a while, an ideal entry point to casual users wanting to try out the world of these higher function tablet/laptop hybrids. Specs include 4GB RAM, 128GB of solid-state storage, a 10.1-inch HD (1,280 x 800) screen, Windows 10 and a quad-core Intel Atom processor.

When it comes to ranking highly on the Amazon Bestsellers lists, as the ranks are based hourly (or daily if the above information is correct), then a quick spike in sales due to a successful marketing campaign, followed by a lull in sales a couple of days later will only serve to see the product’s rankings quickly plummet. It’s far better to space out a product launch over a period of week, so Amazon can collect consistent historical data to make predictions on future sales. This will thereby make it easier for you to break into higher spots on the ranking table in future.

Amazon’s press release is filled with all sorts of tidbits about top-selling items along with interesting factoids about logistics. As one quick example, Amazon notes that customers ordered more than 1,400 electronic products per second via mobile devices during the recent holiday shopping season. Another tidbit is that the peak day of customer fulfillment this past year was on December 19.

Amazon offers the Acer Aspire 5 A515-51G-53F6 Intel Kaby Lake R Core i5 1.6GHz 15.6″ 1080p Gaming Laptop for $585.50 with free shipping. That’s the best price we could find by $44. It features an Intel Core i5-8250U 1.6GHz Kaby Lake R quad-core processor, 15.6″ 1920×1080 (1080p) LED-backlit LCD, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce MX150 2GB graphics, 4-cell battery, and Windows 10 Home 64-bit. (No optical drive is included.)

Amazon won’t announce the best-selling product of 2017 until early next year, but for now investors can take note that the past two years Amazon’s products outsold everything else, and this year its electronics are easily topping the list again. That’s a strong signal of Amazon’s ability to continually keep customers tied to its ecosystem.

One of the most common decisions that people have been needing to make when considering laptops of this caliber is whether to go with the MacBook Air or the MacBook Pro. There isn’t a “correct” answer to this question, as each one offers something that the other does not. But with a solid state drive, amazing screen, long battery life and snappy processor, the MacBook Air is going to make a lot of people very happy.

Looking at Amazon’s best selling laptops can be an effective way to start searching for a new laptop for yourself. There are so many options available that is can be a little overwhelming, so being able to see which laptops are selling the best will give you a good idea as to how other people are shopping. Plus the better-selling laptops usually have more reviews, so you can get first-hand accounts of the pros and cons that come along with owning that laptop.

Very nicely broken down Steve! I def agree with you; from my experience (I run an app called Feedbackz and see/work with feedback/reviews all day long!) I see the same of the notion that.. it’s many, many factors associated with conversions.
