Last week, I put up a fake book on Amazon. I took a photo of my foot, uploaded to Amazon, and in a matter of hours, had achieved “No. 1 Best Seller” status, complete with the orange banner and everything.
As of this afternoon, Amazon says that its “Techies” category on the site was one of the most shopped, along with “Home Chefs” and “For the Home.” In the Techies section, Amazon is heavily promoting its own hardware — including Echo devices, Fire tablets, Kindle e-readers — as well as bundles like the Echo Dot/Philips Hue Starter Kit, for example, among others.
Well I got me a second hand acer C710 with 320gb HDD and treated myself to a light blue iPearl cover. Glad crippled windows low spec machine tanking…guess people in the market for them, remember Windows on Netbooks and have said no thanks and got Chromebooks instead. I sure did.
Absolutely, it will overrate some and underrate others. However, it is comprehensive and transparent and, I believe, the best possible without making a lot of shaky assumptions on average feedback rates, sales prices etc. etc. So I prefer to keep it simple, and be upfront about the source of the data and its shortcomings.
Not very good quality. So much sellers are missing. Sometimes a seller is missing only in one marketplace. For example KW-Comerce in europe. There you have only two markets instead of 5. And KW is one of the biggest. ?
With that said; I’ve would have to give ballpark of around 5-7% for seller feedback (even worse conversions for product reviews) averaging the highs and lows of niches, marketplaces, product quality, etc. etc… high end is about 20-23%.
