Interested in the international fulfillment mastermind. We are currently generating sales of 15-20k / month but gearing up for expansion both at home and the European marketplaces. Our database provider has recently added ISBN search capability in Europe and we are in France now doing a little recon. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Chromebooks are super cheap laptops that are based entirely on the Chrome browser. You need an Internet connection for the laptops to do anything. But, for the most part, people are Internet-connected when they’re using a laptop, so it’s not a huge limitation.

Hi Tushit! Congratulations on the launch of your new book! In the paid category, many other books will be selling more copies than yours. In the free category that you’re listed in, you’ll be selling the most copies in that specific category… Basically, this is how it looks like the sales rank works.

That was when I learned about the Amazon Best Sellers Rank. In case you too have been living under a rock, apparently every item sold on Amazon — from books to glass dildos (No. 744 at the time of this article) — is awarded a number based on the frequency with which it’s selling by comparison to other Amazon items.

(Publisher: Take-Two Interactive Software) — It is nothing less than astonishing that a nearly four-year-old game, first released before the current generation of consoles came out, is still one of the top-selling titles in the industry — even if that game is “Grand Theft Auto.” It’s the gift that keeps on giving for Take-Two, with life-to-date sales of more than 80 million units. The game not only has a compelling single-player element, but developer Rockstar is regularly adding multiplayer components to keep players engaged.

The best-selling automotive products in the U.S. included the Dark Seasonal Snow & Ice Car Scraper, the NOCO Genius Boost Plus GB40 1000 Amp 12V UltraSafe Lithium Jump Starter and the STANLEY J5C09 Jump Starter.

With the 2017 holiday shopping season now firmly behind us, Amazon has a lot to smile about. Earlier today, the online retailing giant issued a press release noting that the 2017 holiday shopping season was its biggest yet. In addition to a record number of online orders, Amazon relays that it saw significant gains to its Prime membership, noting that it saw more than 4 million new Prime subscribers in one week alone.

If you want a premium alternative, we’ve heard good things about MerchantWords (not an affiliate link), but keep in mind that these types of services don’t get their data from Amazon… At least not fully. They typically use a system that pulls data from major search engines, identifies matching queries in Amazon, and then use an algorithm to combine that data and give you estimated traffic numbers. Still may be worth checking out for some.

Amazon uses multiple selling accounts of its own, such as Warehouse Deals, Digital Services, Quidsi, The Book Depository, Cloudtail (a joint venture) and Amazon Media. Selling accounts that could be identified as belonging to Amazon have been excluded.

“While the algorithm deciding your Sales Rank doesn’t seem to place any weight on copies that were downloaded while your book was free, it appears that the algorithm feeding into the Popularity List does. ”

OK we have now updated all the data – global, and all the countries. I think we have picked up a lot of the missing sellers and additional marketplaces for sellers with unified European accounts.

I have a book which has sold zero copies, but its rank has changed several times. It has also gone up, so this has not been caused by people adding books. One of the categories it’s listed in doesn’t have that many books, but it still has over 100 of them. Despite that, my book was listed at #15 at one point even though no-one has bought it…

Also, there are sellers above that are overseas, copy loose leaf and print on demand textbooks, they illegally copy to sell to U.S. students. Students wait months to get their textbooks and they come in as different editions (because they lie about them), loose leaf, or illegally printed (meaning they bought a book, made copies of it and sell the book).

Amazon does nothing to stop any of these practices. Also, quite a few on this list are drop shippers and spider sellers. Some do not have inventory, so if you need to return a product what happens is you are suppose to ship it back to whoever they buy it from, who many or may not reimbursed the seller you bought from…you end up not getting reimbursed. It’s a whole scam. Also, many of these stores are the same store (they hire others to open a store on Amazon, they have no product, but the same book is listed almost the same wording and same condition (or in the condition, they tell you they have a bunch of satisfied customers), just a few pennies difference…want to know if they really have the book…ask a question and they will say ‘we can’t answer you because it is in a warehouse in bumf*** wherever, lol)

&field-brandtextbin= is another URL string you’ll want to be familiar with. It’s what tells Amazon to filter your search by a brand name. Since many customers already know what brand they want, you may be able to use this query for tracking and SEO purposes.

It should be noted here that Amazon doesn’t have anything against selling cheap knockoffs. They just don’t like it when you lie about what it really is or who really made it. So, I’m not telling you this method because I condone it, but merely to keep you informed doesn’t Amazon seller. Someday it could happen to you! Know how to protect yourself from having your product listing hijacked.

In the span of one day, Michael Wolff’s bombshell book about President Donald Trump and his administration, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, moved 48,448 positions up on Amazon’s best-seller list to reach the no. 1 spot. As of 10:00 a.m. EST on Thursday, it has retained its status. (The book is still in pre-order stages; it will be released on Jan. 9.)

Turns out, there’s a 100% free tool that does exactly that – it’s the KTD Amazon Keyword Tool. When you enter a keyword, it automatically queries Amazon’s search box for all the long-tail Search Suggestions for your keyword + each letter of the alphabet.

From afar, this laptop might be mistaken for a MacBook Air, which tells you a lot about its level of quality. Replete with an all-metal frame, this is probably one of the best-looking laptops for under 500 bucks. There are plenty of ports (old and new), 4GB of RAM and up to 512GB in solid-state storage. The cheapest models have a respectable Intel Core i3 processor, but you can get the more powerful i5 versions if you need that extra kick. Another dig at Apple? Unlike the Air, this laptop sports a fully HD screen.

Some of the reviews can have nothing to do about the product itself and something the customer did wrong. Like order the wrong size, or be to click to purchase and order the wrong item entirely. One can never reverse engineer enough, worked for China! Lol.

Amazon’s press release is filled with all sorts of tidbits about top-selling items along with interesting factoids about logistics. As one quick example, Amazon notes that customers ordered more than 1,400 electronic products per second via mobile devices during the recent holiday shopping season. Another tidbit is that the peak day of customer fulfillment this past year was on December 19.

Tania, the sales numbers you are referencing are within certain categories. The numbers listed above are for the overall amazon sales rank – how you rank compared to every other book on amazon. It is much easier (and still productive) to reach a to 100 sales rank within a certain category as people do search that way. However, the category sales ranks will not reflect the sales figures listed above.

We think the two sources together provide good coverage but it’s not going to be 100%. A seller that’s missing from the seller directories (or who only sells in categories without a directory) and does not have an offer for any of the top 100 best sellers won’t be on the list. A summary of the methodology is in the “About the Data” section at the end of the article, but in less detail because it gets pretty complex.

The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over forty years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm, but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside.

In all book categories (including Kindle paid and free books), as well as most product categories on Amazon, if you scroll down the page to the ‘Product Details’ section, you’ll see it says ‘Amazon Bestsellers Rank’. This is a number that’s purportedly calculated hourly (as stated by Amazon) and is linked to the number of recent sales of the product (while also taking into account historical sales data), relative to the other products in that category.

Conny, I’m not sure, to be honest. Perhaps something to do with angorythm changes? Or simply your relation to others in your category, which can naturally change without your sales changing at all… so, if the sales in 50% of your category are fluctuating (which they are), this will naturally change your relative rank, even if your sales stay the same (even at 0)… In all, though, it’s impossible to tell for sure. Please let me know if you find out anything else!

While Google hasn’t yet opened up product distribution outside the U.S., earlier this week, Amazon indicated that it would ship the device to select international destinations. Shoppers in Europe, Asia and Australia reported success in ordering the device. But now, Amazon’s Chromecast product listing reads: “Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S. and to APO/FPO addresses.”

From New Yorker staff writer David Grann, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Lost City of Z, comes a haunting true-life murder mystery about one of the most monstrous crimes in American history.

I was hooked. It didn’t matter the numbers could be meaningless because they accounted for only one bookseller or because I couldn’t be sure in relationship to what I was being ranked. It didn’t matter that the numbers were as fleeting as my recent obsession with chocolate mint gum, which ended when I tasted it.

Another thing is that even though their seller feedback rating might be stellar, you will see if you read back in their 40/50 feedbacks per day that negative feedback gets buries almost instantly (and funny…most the positive feedback after negative feedback will take a point or two of the negative feedback proceeding it and comment in the positive on those points.
