Chromecast’s sales success does suggest that mainstream users aren’t too concerned about the lack of streaming options—to date, only two non-Google services, Netflix and Hulu, work directly with Chromecast—or the wait for more apps to emerge. At least not yet.

“I wanted a flat iron that not only flattened but flips and curls too! I bought this product because of the reviews and price. I am so glad I did. I used it to curl my hair and I have to say it works better than a curling iron.” – Scruz, Amazon reviewer
Super Mario Odyssey was the best-selling video game of 2017 on Amazon, according to the online retailer. Nintendo also had the second and third best-selling video games on Amazon, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Switch rounding out top three.
Sadly Amazon is not available in Australia, not for buyers or sellers, only Amazon books….even though Australia is one of the highest online purchasing population there is, but I guess Ebay isn’t complaining.
Tania, the sales numbers you are referencing are within certain categories. The numbers listed above are for the overall amazon sales rank – how you rank compared to every other book on amazon. It is much easier (and still productive) to reach a to 100 sales rank within a certain category as people do search that way. However, the category sales ranks will not reflect the sales figures listed above.
Recent sales alone are not all that’s taken into account. Amazon also has predictive features built into the Bestsellers Rank, which are likely to be based on historical data of a product. This is how a newly released book can have a higher ranking than a book released three years ago, even when the latter has more cumulative sales- Amazon can predict that the new release will overtake that book in a given period of time.
Some of the reviews can have nothing to do about the product itself and something the customer did wrong. Like order the wrong size, or be to click to purchase and order the wrong item entirely. One can never reverse engineer enough, worked for China! Lol.
It’s worth noting, too, that Prime Day 2017 technically started early this year — at 9 PM ET on Monday night. Plus, the sales event has expanded to 13 countries worldwide this year, up from 10 in 2016, which also translates to increased sales. While the U.K. and Germany were both in the Prime Day lineup last year, the Echo had yet to expand to those markets (it came only in September 2016): that too will have translated to a bump.
OK we have now updated all the data – global, Europe and all the countries. I think we have picked up a lot of the missing sellers and additional marketplaces for sellers with unified European accounts.
