New York Times Bestsellers – Amazon runs special sections that feature the books that made it to weekly bestsellers lists by The New York Times. The NYT lists can be found in both print and Kindle sections. We link to the second directory, as it showcases the combined charts (print+ebook) for fiction and nonfiction.
With that said; I’ve would have to give ballpark of around 5-7% for seller feedback (even worse conversions for product reviews) averaging the highs and lows of niches, marketplaces, product quality, etc. etc… high end is about 20-23%.
According to Amazon, the Bestsellers Rank is calculated hourly, but sometimes there is a lag between an increase in sales, and an improvement in a ranking. This lag is usually no more than 2 or 3 hours, but there is some debate over exactly how many product rankings are calculated hourly. This article on WebProNews, mentions that, in the books category, only the top 10,000 books are calculated hourly, whereas books with a ranking of 10,000+ are calculated once per day with ‘current projections as well as historic sales information play[ing] a key role in calculations’.
“There has been increased interest in this title over the last 72 hours, with the book sitting on the top of our Best Sellers lists for Books, Kindle Books, and Audible,” a representative from Amazon tells CNBC Make It Friday.
While the best sellers list is littered with things like $10-50 PlayStation Network cards and subscriptions to PlayStation Plus, there’s also a couple of accessories on the list, including things like a DualShock 4 controller and other controllers for the Xbox and Nintendo Switch. When it comes to games, however, the top 10 best sellers for 2017 is fairly varied mix, so take a look at those below (via Nintendo Life):
Amazon offers the Acer Aspire 5 A515-51G-53F6 Intel Kaby Lake R Core i5 1.6GHz 15.6″ 1080p Gaming Laptop for $585.50 with free shipping. That’s the best price we could find by $44. It features an Intel Core i5-8250U 1.6GHz Kaby Lake R quad-core processor, 15.6″ 1920×1080 (1080p) LED-backlit LCD, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce MX150 2GB graphics, 4-cell battery, and Windows 10 Home 64-bit. Lenovo has crafted a brilliant, forward-thinking device that could very well create a subcategory in computing all of its own. The modest specs hold it back from taking on the big boys in terms of raw power, but the innovative digital touchpad keyboard and drawing surface look like trendsetters to us. The Android version is currently about $100 cheaper than the Windows one (click “see all prices” above to see all options).
I’m pretty sure you’re missing a class of sellers. These are both long-time Amazon Sellers that I’ve had experience buying from and both are missing from your list but clearly have the feedback scores to make it.
When it comes to ranking highly on the Amazon Bestsellers lists, as the ranks are based hourly (or daily if the above information is correct), then a quick spike in sales due to a successful marketing campaign, followed by a lull in sales a couple of days later will only serve to see the product’s rankings quickly plummet. It’s far better to space out a product launch over a period of week, so Amazon can collect consistent historical data to make predictions on future sales. This will thereby make it easier for you to break into higher spots on the ranking table in future.
The Asus ZenBook UX310, the long awaited follow-up to the ZenBook UX305, sports a 7th-generation Intel Kaby Lake processor and an all-aluminum frame, truly a candidate for the MacBook Air’s throne. That’s thanks in no small part to the ZenBook UX310 offering all the latest ports, including USB-C, and the option of a beautiful QHD+ (3,200 x 1,800) display, complete with 178 degrees of rotation and a serious case of the anti-glare.
